His work has taken him on a wide range of commissioned features around the world and throughout the UK and Europe. He has photographed global leaders from Nelson Mandela to Barack Obama, CEOs of the world’s largest companies, high profile figures from sport and the arts and covered major conflicts such as the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
After completing an HND in Professional Broadcasting Christopher began working as a professional photographer in 2002. His initial career took in commercial portraiture, corporate and public relations photography. In 2005 he retrained as a photo-journalist, completing an NCTJ in Photojournalism and taking up a position as a staff photographer with agency News Team International. In 2006 he won the prestigious ‘Times Young Photographer of the Year’ and moved to a contract position with The Times in London. This was followed by a period freelancing for the Associated Press, Action Images/Reuters, The Independent, The Times and The Sunday Times. In 2007 he became a regular contributor at the broadsheet newspapers The Daily Telegraph and Sunday Telegraph.
His photographs have appeared in national and international magazines including among others Time Magazine, Newsweek, The Economist, The Sunday Times Magazine and the New Statesman. Christopher regularly has work featured in all UK national newspapers such as The Financial Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Observer, The Times, The Sunday Times and internationally in titles such as The Sydney Morning Herald, The New York Times, De Staandard, and La Stampa. His portrait and lifestyle work has been published in a range of lifestyle magazines including Tatler, Cosmopolitan, Town and Country, Hello Magazine, The Radio Times and Good Housekeeping. Christopher’s work has also been used to illustrate several books and book covers.
Alongside his editorial and portrait work Christopher has maintained a successful career as a landscape photographer. He holds regular solo exhibitions, produces limited edition fine art prints and contributes to public art displays. He has worked on a wide range of landscape photography commissions from individual unique works of art to original interior design pieces and artworks produced on a larger scale for corporate clients.
Christopher appears as a guest lecturer on photography and art courses at colleges and universities and holds a BA (Honours) Degree in History and a PTTLs teaching qualification. He also runs regular workshops, teaches photography to adults and delivers photographic talks to groups and societies.
Christopher is a fully CAA qualified and registered drone operator and produces creative aerial photography and video alongside his photographic work.
Throughout his career Christopher has won or been shortlisted for several major awards including the Outdoor Photographer of the Year, British Wildife Photography Award, UK Picture Editor's Guild and The Press Photographer of the Year Award.
