Christopher Pledger is a freelance photographer for British broadsheet The Daily Telegraph. He is based on the south coast near Brighton.
Having worked as a photographer in various fields since 2002 Christopher re-trained as a press photographer in 2005 by completing an NCTJ Photo-Journalism at the Sheffield College.
He began his press career as a staff photographer at regional agency News Team International before being named the ‘Times Tabasco Young Photographer of the Year 2006’. This award earnedhim a six-month contract with The Times.
In 2007 Christopher joined The Daily Telegraph, the last remaining dailynewspaper printed on traditional newsprint in the Broadsheet format in the UK.
In 2007 he was nominated for Young Photographer of the Year at the Picture Editors’ Awards, and his work has featured in The Press Photographer's Year competitions.
Christopher's photographs of the Parachute Regiment's 2008 deployment to Afghanistan where used to illustrate best selling author Patrick Bishop's book 'Ground Truth'.
